CRAIG: This did well on The CW, and even though it’s been a while, I’m assuming it will do well enough for FOX here. I actually think it’s a good thing that SmackDown is back on broadcast.
SHILO: I’ll be very curious how WWE SmackDown looks now that it’s back on broadcast for the first time in about a decade. FOX has Thursday Night Football to promote it on and it thrived on Fridays when it was on The CW, but it’s true value might lie more in providing live, original content in weeks when FOX would’ve otherwise had to air reruns or specials. I think if it really pops with the upgrade from USA Network and the promotional muscle behind it, FOX could be emboldened to add more sports to its schedule in 2020-21.
