Deadline is reporting that Six Feet Under alum Peter Krause has joined FOX midseason drama 9-1-1. Details about his character beyond his status as the male lead, though, have yet to be released.
From Ryan Murphy and Brad Falchuk (American Horror Story), 9-1-1 explores the high-pressure experiences of police, paramedics, and firefighters who act as emergency first responders. The series will chronicle the difficulties that come with consistently being thrust into frightening situations and the struggle to balance an emotionally exhausting professional life with issues in their personal lives.
In addition to his role on the acclaimed HBO drama, Krause has appeared on the likes of Dirty Sexy Money, Sports Night, and Parenthood. He’s the second member of 9-1-1 to be cast following fellow Emmy nominee Angela Bassett, whose casting was revealed upon the show’s straight-to-series order.
9-1-1 is set to premiere this midseason on FOX. Given that the procedural is just now setting its main cast, it seems likely that its debut will be in spring vs winter, though a concrete premiere date should be announced later this year.
