TNT has announced that period drama Will is set to debut Monday, July 10th at 9:00, marking the latest addition to its increasingly crowded summer schedule.

From Craig Pearce (Moulin Rouge!), Will tells the story of a young William Shakespeare (Laurie Davidson) as he first arrives onto the theater scene in 16th century London. Described as a contemporary version of the bard’s life, Will focuses on Shakespeare’s recklessness, rock star status within London, and eventual creative partnership with actor Richard Burbage (Mattias Inwood).

In addition to Davidson and Inwood, Will stars Olivia DeJonge (The Visit) as Alice Burbage, the rebellious daughter of the carpenter behind London’s first theater since Roman times and the catalyst for Shakespeare’s partnership with her brother; Jamie Campbell Bower (Camelot) as premier Shakespeare rival Christopher Marlowe; and Ewen Bremmer (Snowpiercer) as notorious law enforcer Richard Topcliffe.

Will joins a summer schedule for TNT that includes Animal Kingdom and Claws. The network, currently in the middle of rebranding its drama slate, is also behind the likes of Good Behavior, The Last Ship, and Major Crimes.
