Deadline is reporting that proposed Supernatural spinoff Wayward Sisters has filled out its core cast with three mothership characters, as well as one newcomer. Briana Buckmaster will reprise her role as fan-favorite Sheriff Donna Hanscum, a newcomer to the hunter life and good friend to Sheriff Jody; Kathryn Newton will be playing orphan Claire Novak, a rebellious new hunter who first appeared on Supernatural in 2014; and Katherine Ramdeen is set as Alex Jones, a runaway whose aversion to violence will be tested when her new family is threatened. The new character, a high school overachiever named Patience Turner whose life is turned upside down upon discovering her psychic powers, will be played by Clark Backo.

From four Supernatural writer-producers, including co-showrunners Andrew Dabb and Robert Singer, Wayward Sisters follows Sheriff Jody Mills (Kim Rhoades) as she leads a group of women shaken by tragedy into a life of empowerment through monster hunting. The series is the second attempt The CW has made at a Supernatural spinoff, with 2014’s Bloodlines, which wasn’t connected to the main show, not being picked up to series.

In addition to her role on Supernatural, Buckmaster has appeared on the likes of Continuum, Frequency, and Arrow, while Newton’s television credits include Big Little Lies and Dog with a Blog, Ramdeen has been seen on Motive and Almost Human, and Backo’s appearances range from Beauty and the Beast to Designated Survivor.

Would you watch a Wayward Sisters spinoff? Are there any other Supernatural recurring players that you’d want to see pop up? If Wayward Sisters gets a series order, do you think The CW should air it with Supernatural?
