Wayward Sisters was one of The CW’s highest-profile projects in development for the 2018-2019 TV season, a Supernatural spinoff featuring characters who were seen and known for time on the parent series.
The CW ultimately passed on taking it to series, a decision that has raised a lot of pushback from fans online, and this morning on a conference call, CW President Mark Pedowitz was asked about the decision not to pick the show up.
“We are big fans of the characters and the women who played those characters, but we did not feel creatively that the show was where we wanted it to be, and we felt we had a better shot with Legacies,” Pedowitz said, referring to the spinoff set in the world of The Vampire Diaries and The Originals. What happens next with the characters is a subject that he will discuss with the show’s producers.
