The HBO adaptation of Watchmen has landed a director for the pilot episode — and it’s someone who has worked with show director Damon Lindelof before on The Leftovers.

Nicole Kassell is directing the HBO Watchmen pilot, and prior to this, she helmed the Leftovers episodes “No Room at the Inn” and “It’s a Matt, Matt, Matt, Matt World.”

Watchmen, first published in 1986 by DC Comics, is considered one of the most iconic graphic novels in the history of the medium. The series was adapted into a movie within the past decade and DC is currently sequelizing the series with Doomsday Clock.

Casting news on the Watchmen pilot is expected within the next few months.
