Starz has announced that acclaimed dramedy Vida has been renewed for a second season.

Vida has delivered on its promise of attracting a young, new Latinx audience to the Starz platform, as we had hoped it would, and we are pleased to be able to announce a second season of the series,” Starz CEO Chris Albrecht said. “With these new episodes, Tanya and her team now have the opportunity to take audiences even deeper into the lives and community of the Hernandez sisters, and we look forward to bringing the next chapter of their story to life.”

Despite soft L+SD ratings, with yesterday’s finale hitting a 0.06 in the 18-49 demo, and modest non-linear gains, Vida has understandably overindexed with Hispanic audiences, growing 171% to to earn the largest Hispanic audience composition for a premium series this year.

The series joins a scripted slate for Starz that includes Power, Outlander, American Gods, Sweetbitter, The Girlfriend Experience, and Counterpart.

Are you happy that Vida has been renewed? What did you think about the season finale? Is there anything in particular you want to see happen in season two?
