The series finale of The Vampire Diaries will air Friday, March 10 on The CW and it goes by the title of “I Was Feeling Epic.”

This morning, The CW hosted a screening of the show’s next-to-last episode which preceded a Q&A with actors Ian Somerhalder (Damon), Paul Wesley (Stefan), Zach Roerig (Matt), and Michael Malarkey (Enzo), and a subject that was addressed is Nina Dobrev’s return for the series ender.

“I think it would have been very strange to not have Nina come back for the finale,” Paul Wesley said when asked about the closer’s returning characters.

“It’s like the whole story, or the crux of it, is about two brothers fighting over a girl. Obviously there were a bazillion other storylines, but I felt like it would have been a real shame for the fans and for the show to not wrap that up, to a degree,” he explained.

A new episode of The Vampire Diaries airs this Friday, March 3 before the two-hour event the following week which includes a  retrospective. You can see some photos from the series finale below.
