This fall, there are an unprecedented four primetime shows based on DC Comics properties spread across three networks — Gotham on FOX, Arrow and The Flash on The CW, and Constantine on NBC. iZombie, loosely based on the DC/Vertigo series of the same name, is also coming to The CW at midseason, and beyond that there’s talk of a new Supergirl show.
And now something else can be added to the mix.
Deadline is reporting that cable network TNT is near a pilot order for Titans, based on the DC Comics Teen Titans franchises. The series, written by Akiva Goldsman and Marc Haimes, would revolve around “a young group of super heroes to be from the DC Universe.” The Deadline report mentions Dick Grayson (Nightwing), and other heroes including Starfire, Raven “and many others.” Of course, one of comics’ original Titans, Roy Harper, is currently a character on Arrow, and Victor Stone aka Cyborg is going to be making his big screen debut in Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice.
The project will come from Warner Bros.’ Warner Horizon cable division, whose new version of Dallas currently runs on TNT.
Good thing we registered @TitansTV all those years ago, eh?
