Starz has released a first look at upcoming limited series The White Princess and in it, we see that being used as a political pawn can ignite a fury no man can extinguish.
Based on the Philippa Gregory novel of the same name and acting as a sequel to 2013’s The White Queen, The White Princess follows the marriage of Elizabeth of York (Jodie Comer) and Henry VII (Jacob Collins-Levy), a union put together to unite the Houses of York and Tudor while ensuring the latter is regarded as a legitimate king. Enraged at having her agency stripped from her, her dream of marrying for love no more due to her heritage and the fractured state of England, Lizzie begins plotting ways to undermine and eventually overthrow Henry, steadily growing into the power granted to her as queen and subsequently becoming a major threat to the House of Tudor.
In addition to Comer, The White Princess stars Joanne Whalley (The Borgias), Michelle Fairley (Game of Thrones), Essie Davis (The Babadook), and Vincent Regan (The Royals).
The White Princess is set to premiere Sunday, April 16th at 8:00 on Starz. The series joined a scripted slate on Starz that includes American Gods, Power, and Ash vs Evil Dead.
