The upcoming fifth season of The CW series The Originals is going to have another time jump, and this second time around, the character of Hope — originally seen as a baby on the series, and later played by Summer Fontana in Season 4 — is now a teenager.

Multiple outlets including TV Line are reporting that The Last Tycoon actress Danielle Rose Russell has been casted as the new Hope, and that she will be a series regular for The Originals Season 5. The fifth season will premiere at some time in midseason on the network. Hopefully, with her attending the school of The Vampire Diaries’ Alaric (Matt Davis) and Caroline (Candice King), this will mean we’ll see one or both of those characters at some point.

There should be more Originals Season 5 news this weekend from the Comic-Con International in San Diego. We will let you know when and if we hear anything!
