FOX has released the official trailer for upcoming fish out of water comedy The Mick and in it, we see that anything that seems too good to be true usually is.
From Dave and John Chernin (It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia), The Mick follows brash Mackenzie (Kaitlin Olson), someone who exerts an awful lot of effort in order to make her life as easy and responsibility-free as possible. Though she might be smart enough to make her own way in the world, Mackenzie lacks any type of drive and always looks for a way to pass the buck to someone else. That all changes, though, when she goes looking for a handout from her estranged sister and billionaire brother-in-law; what should be a quick and easy cash out turns into something much more when Mackenzie’s sister and brother-in-law flee the country to escape fraud charges. She’s then forced to parent their three children when it turns out she was named their guardian, but it won’t be that easy considering how spoiled, entitled, and ill-behaved they are and how she’s only used to caring for one person: herself.
In addition to Olson, The Mick stars Sofia Black-D’Elia (The Messengers), Carla Jimenez (Last Man Standing), Thomas Barbusca (Wet Hot American Summer: First Day of Camp), and newcomer Jack Stanton.
The Mick is set to air midseason, with the show currently penciled in for Tuesdays at 8:30. You can check out FOX’s 2016-2017 schedule here.
Will you be watching The Mick? Do you think the show would be a good match with New Girl? Could this be FOX’s breakout comedy for next season?
