TV Line is reporting that Emmy nominee Fred Armisen (Portlandia) will be guest starring on the fourth season of The Last Man on Earth. He’ll be playing Karl, a survivor with an interesting past, in a handful of episodes, though no time frame for his run has been indicated.
This season of The Last Man on Earth has found Tandy and company making their way to Mexico after setting sail following Pat’s death. They successfully welcomed Pamela into the fold before setting her free, broke the news of the state of the world to someone trapped on a deserted island, and helped Todd come back from the brink following his heart attack, all with Erica a week removed from giving birth and Carol getting closer to her own delivery.
In addition to his role on the IFC comedy, Armisen has appeared on the likes of Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt, Difficult People, and Documentary Now!. He would become the fourth high profile guest star on this season of The Last Man on Earth, following Jack Black, Kristen Wiig, and Chris Elliott.
The Last Man on Earth airs Sundays at 9:30 on FOX.
