FOX has gotten back into the upfronts game by ordering its first new comedy for next season, as well as adding to its drama pile.
From Charlie Day (It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia) and Paul Fruchbom (Ryan Hansen Solves Crimes on Television), The Cool Kids follows three male friends at a retirement community, all of whom are at the top of the social food chain. However, their status is challenged when the rebellious newest member of the community makes her presence known. Likely eyed as a companion for Last Man Standing, the series stars David Alan Grier (The Carmichael Show), Leslie Jordan (Will & Grace), Martin Mull (Roseanne), and Vicki Lawrence (Mama’s Family).
From David Elliot (G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra), Proven Innocent (fka Infamy) is set at a wrong conviction firm led by a passionate female lawyer whose troubled past as a tabloid sensation fuels her desire for justice. The series follows the firm as they reopen investigations trying to exonerate those innocent who were proven guilty.
Proven Innocent stars the likes of Russell Hornsby (Grimm), Vincent Kartheiser (Mad Men), Riley Smith (Life Sentence), Persia White (Girlfriends), and Rachelle Lefevre (Under the Dome).
FOX is set to reveal its 2018 schedule on Monday, May 12th.
