Deadline is reporting that The Gifted alum Natalie Alyn Lind has joined straight-to-series ABC PI drama The Big Sky.
Based on the C.J. Box novel The Highway, with David E. Kelley (Big Little Lies) developing for television, The Big Sky follows private investigator Cassie Dewell (Kylie Bunbury) as she teams up with ex-cop Jenny Hoyt (Katheryn Winnick) to look into the disappearance of two sisters, said to be kidnapped by a trucker on a remote Montana highway. Once the pair discover that other women have been abducted, as well, they find themselves in a race against time to stop the killer.
Lind will play impulsive hot-head Danielle Sullivan, who gets kidnapped during a trip to visit her boyfriend in Montana along with her younger sister.
The Big Sky was the first ABC drama to get a series order for 2020-21. The network has several pilots in contention, including gothic soap The Brides, about the complicated relationship between Dracula’s three immortal wives; thirtysomething sequel thirtysomething(else); family restaurant saga Harlem’s Kitchen; plane crash tale Wreckage; and legal drama Rebel, which stars Katey Sagal as an Erin Brockovitch-like figure.
In addition to the FOX drama, Lind’s television credits include Tell Me a Story, The Goldbergs, and Gotham.
