NBC has released a new image from their upcoming series The Cape, which will have a special first look on Friday at the Comic-Con International in San Diego.

Fortunately, it’s a much better look at the costume than the photo that was first released.

FOX’s Lonestar: A Modern-Day Dallas?

Lonestar FOX

Landing on Mondays in the plum spot after House on FOX is a new series titled Lonestar.

Here’s FOX’s description for it:

From Chris Keyser and Amy Lippman, the creators of “Party of Five”; Marc Webb, the director of “(500) Days of Summer”; and creator Kyle Killen, comes LONESTAR, a provocative soap set against the backdrop of big Texas oil. ROBERT/BOB ALLEN (newcomer James Wolk) is a charismatic and brilliant schemer who has meticulously constructed two lives in two different parts of Texas. He’s juggling two identities and two women in two very different worlds – all under one mountain of lies. As “Bob,” he lives in Houston and is married to CAT (Adrianne Palicki, “Friday Night Lights”), the beautiful daughter of CLINT (Jon Voight, 24, “Midnight Cowboy”), the patriarch of an ultra-wealthy Texas oil family. More than 400 miles away in the suburban west Texas town of Midland, he’s “Robert,” living a second life with his sweet, naïve girlfriend, LINDSAY (Eloise Mumford, “Mercy,” “Law & Order: SVU”). In Midland, he plays the perfect boyfriend while secretly bilking local investors of their savings. In Houston, he’s a devoted husband, charming Cat and her family to cement his position in the rich family business he aims to clean out. Bob has lived both lives successfully for years without arousing any suspicions…so far. While one brother-in-law, DREW (Bryce Johnson, “Popular,” “The Mentalist”), admires Bob, his other brother-in-law, TRAMMELL (Mark Deklin, “Nip/Tuck,” “Desperate Housewives”), is suspicious of his motives. Bob begins to fear his secret lives may unravel. With the cons closing in on him, Bob is divided by his love for two women; his loyalty to his father and mentor, JOHN (David Keith, “An Officer and a Gentleman,” “The Class”); and his respect for his father-in-law, Clint. Now as he tries to hold his two lives together, while fending off angry investors and the suspicions of those around him, Bob puts it all on the line hoping he can beat the odds, leave the schemes behind and keep two separate relationships afloat.

This concept, set in Texas like that great oil-family series of three decades ago, adds new wrinkles with the main character’s double life. How does it look? Check out the promo below and see:

Summer Glau Talks About The Cape

Summer Glau Talks About The Cape

Summer GlauIn a new interview with Matt Webb Mitovich at FANCAST.com, Summer Glau talks a little bit about her new role in The Cape:

“It’s a cop drama with a lot of other fun, exciting elements to it,” she tells Fancast. “It’s about Palm City, which is run rampant with crime, so the city is thinking about hiring a private corporation to take over the police. There’s a cop (played by David Lyons) that gets framed for causing these crimes, so he goes into hiding to figure out a way to expose the truth. In exile, he gets trained by this band of thieves on how to be The Cape. I play a blogger who seems to have a lot of inside information on what goes on with these crimes.”

As for her character’s interaction with The Cape, Glau reveals that they don’t get along in the beginning, but she turns out to be his best ally. “She shares his passion to stop this crime wave,” she says, and she also shares that her character gets to kick butt. “I got to do a lot of action, and I had a blast doing it,” she says.

You can read the entire Fancast interview, which includes details about her new TV movie “Deadly Honeymoon,” here.

Details About Summer Glau’s Character “Orwell” In The Cape

Details About Summer Glau’s Character “Orwell” In The Cape

Summer GlauCurious about the character that Summer Glau will be playing in NBC’s pilot The Cape? You’re in luck, thanks to KSiteTV.

Here are some more details about Glau’s “intrepid investigative blogger,” known to Vince Faraday and others as “Orwell”…

Like Chloe’s “Watchtower” on Smallville, Orwell has a “penthouse lair” overlooking the city. This lair also sounds a bit like what Oracle had on Birds of Prey.

Soon after we meet her she’s determined to find out who The Cape is and who it is he works for. It doesn’t take long for her to figure him out, and when Vince Faraday (The Cape, played by David Lyons) finds out what she has learned, he becomes defensive, though it seems that she might become one of his first allies in uncovering the “dirty cops” and villainy in Palm City.

And a non-Summer Glau spoiler for The Cape: Even the bad guys think Vince Faraday is – or was – the criminal known as “Chess.”
