DC is adding a Swamp Thing series to their upcoming DC Universe streaming service. DC Adds A Swamp Thing Series To Their Digital Service

The DC Comics digital service now has a name – DC Universe – and they have announced that they are adding Swamp Thing to their lineup which already includes a live-action Titans show and Metropolis.

The show has a script-to-series order for a one-hour live-action drama which will come from noted producers including Mark Verheiden who wrote some of the best episodes of Smallville.

Executive Producers in addition to Verheiden include Gary Dauberman, who is also writing the project, as well as James Wan and Michael Clear (Atomic Monster). Rob Hackett is the co-producer. The series is based on the DC characters created by the late visionaries Len Wein and Bernie Wrightson.

Here’s the official logline:

When CDC researcher Abby Arcane returns to her childhood home of Houma, Louisiana, in order to investigate a deadly swamp-borne virus, she develops a surprising bond with scientist Alec Holland — only to have him tragically taken from her. But as powerful forces descend on Houma, intent on exploiting the swamp’s mysterious properties for their own purposes, Abby will discover that the swamp holds mystical secrets, both horrifying and wondrous — and the potential love of her life may not be dead after all.

Our first demand, of course: Be sure Abby has white hair!

We’re really looking forward to seeing this. Good thing we registered @SwampThingTV on Twitter long ago…
