Batwoman isn’t the only big name to appear in this year’s three-show crossover between the DC TV “Arrowverse” shows on The CW — it was announced today that Tyler Hoechlin is returning as Superman, and he will be joined by Lois Lane this time!
“We couldn’t be more excited to introduce Lois Lane to the Arrowverse. This dogged, determined and brave reporter will make for a strong partner to Superman and amazing addition to our universe of DC characters,” Supergirl Executive Producers Robert Rovner and Jessica Queller said in a statement.
Hopefully we’ll have some Lois casting details soon; whoever this will be, it will be the fifth actress to play Lois in live-action on television. Previous Lois Lanes for TV include Phyllis Coates, Noel Neill, Teri Hatcher, and Erica Durance.
The three-show crossover starts with The Flash on December 9; Arrow on December 10; and Supergirl on December 11. Flash and Supergirl will be switching places for that week. The crossover will also introduce Ruby Rose’s Batwoman, and all three episodes will air on The CW.

Such exciting news! I’d been hoping Hoechlin’s Superman would eventually appear in one of the big crossovers, and it’s finally happening! It’ll be so awesome seeing him interact with the Earth-1 Arrowverse characters in addition to the Earth-38 ones again! Seeing Lois in the Arrowverse is going to be so cool as well! With James, Superman, and Lucy having already been on Supergirl, it seemed like only a matter of time! Maybe they can even bring back Lucy too!
So many people keep naming actresses that are younger than Melissa Benoist that they think should be Lois Lane. Since Melissa will turn 30 when they’re filming the crossovers, so whoever they cast should be older than that.
