The CBS/Warner Bros. Television Supergirl pilot has added two more to their cast.
Chyler Leigh (Grey’s Anatomy) has landed the role of Alex, the confident foster sister of Kara (series star Melissa Benoist). Fascinated by Kara’s powers from a young age, Alex developed a lifelong obsession with science which inspired her to become a doctor.
In addition to Leigh, David Harewood (Homeland, Selfie) will be playing Hank Henshaw, a one-time CIA agent who now runs the Department of Extra-Normal Operations (DEO), which tracks extraterrestrial threats on the planet Earth. Fans of the comics will know that Hank Henshaw is famous in DC Comics lore for being Cyborg Superman.
KSiteTV can also confirm now that Glen Winter, who has done a fantastic job directing episodes of The Flash, Arrow and Smallville, including the first part of the Flash/Arrow crossover, will be helming the Supergirl pilot. Another Flash and Arrow favorite, Andrew Kreisberg, has also officially boarded the show as an Executive Producer, joining Greg Berlanti, Ali Adler, and Sarah Schechter.
