Forget a major DC character (Alan Scott) being revealed as gay… this is bigger news than #0 issues across the line… the big comics story, at least for Smallville fans, is that after 10 years of not getting what we wanted in that department, the Man of Steel is finally meeting the Dark Knight in the Smallville universe… and it’s happening in DC’s Smallville Season 11 comic book.
The news came out today with DC Comics’ solicitation of the fifth printed issue, which contains the opening chapters of Season 11’s second arc, titled “Detective.”
Here’s the solicitation info. Looks like this issue is drawn by ChrisCross, which is quite cool!
SMALLVILLE SEASON 11 #5
Written by BRYAN Q. MILLER
Art and cover by CHRISCROSS and MARC DEERING
On sale SEPTEMBER 5 • 40 pg, FC, $3.99 US • RATED T
• These stories are in print for the first time after appearing online.
• SUPERMAN comes face-to-face with high-tech weapons on the streets of Metropolis.
• The hunt for his parents’ killer puts a vigilante known only as “the BATMAN” on a collision course with The Man of Steel…
Below you can find the cover art, which features Batman and a Robin who looks female… though with that wings, it could be a Nightwing.
And if black and white line drawn art isn’t what you’re looking for, here’s what Cat Staggs is working on for “Detective,” from her website:

Aww, yeah! I can’t wait!
I think I just died O_O
I hope they will reconsider Smallville 11th Season for TV.
Then Bat man… ;-)
Smallville Season 11 will never be coming to TV… it’s too expensive, the actors want to do other things, and Warner Bros. has their own Superman franchise they want to push with The Man Of Steel. But at least we’ll have Arrow this fall on The CW :)
Yes, Yes!! I miss you Smallville! I have been living off of reruns for over a year now!
YES!!! finally.
smallvilel is not to much they just dont want smallville on tv andf as for arrow its nothign like the comics becuase hes not called arrow hes green arrow and he has the smallville suit not the one from the comic and the new arrow doesnt like anyone
Cat Stagg’s is AMAZING
The Robin here is obviously Helena which is AWESOME!!!
This comic series is too different from the show. I already stopped reading it. I knew it was a bad idea. . . Smallville is about his life before superman. . . That’s where they should have left the story. . . Sorry but this Batman looks like crap too
They could always do one of those DC animated movies for Smallville.
