Watchmen star Regina King is among the executive producers developing a supernatural drama for The CW titled Slay. The project, from CBS Studios, comes from King, her sister Reina King, former CSI: NY showrunner Pam Veasey, and writer Julian Johnson.

According to Deadline who broke the news of this project, Slay centers on Carson Jones, a bold, witty teenager with afro puffs, leather boots, seventies cool, and – thanks to her mother’s ancient African bloodline – supernatural gifts and the responsibility to use them to protect Virginia’s Historic Triangle (one of the most haunted areas in the country) from the forces of darkness.

The project would be in development for The CW’s future; considering that most of their new TV season starts in 2021, this would be Late 2021 at the soonest, we’d imagine.
