Spike has announced that the second season of recently acquired fantasy drama The Shannara Chronicles will be premiering Wednesday, October 11th at 10:00. The show’s first season, which completed airing in March 2016, has been replaying after The Mist on Thursdays this summer.
Season two of The Shannara Chronicles picks up a year following the events of the finale and focuses on a reemergence of magic that terrifies the citizens of Arbolorn, thanks to a shadowy organization called The Crimson charged with hunting down anyone practicing sorcery and sewing discord among the citizenry of The Four Lands. Meanwhile, a still mourning Wil is forced to abandon his plans to become a healer and rejoin the fight when he’s saved from a Crimson attack; fortunately, he’s soon reunited with Eretria and the two venture off the find Allanon. Only they’re confronted with Bandon’s journey to the dark side, which includes a mission to resurrect an evil known as The Warlock Lord.
The Shannara Chronicles, which was moved to Spike after MTV rebranded away from scripted content, stars Austin Butler (The Carrie Diaries), Ivana Baquero (Pan’s Labyrinth), Manu Bennett (Spartacus), Aaron Jakubenko (Roman Empire: Reign of Blood), and Marcus Vanco (Unbroken), with Vanessa Morgan (Finding Carter), Malese Jow (Star-Crossed), Gentry White (Furious Seven), Caroline Chikezie (Aeon Flux), and Desmond Chiam (Magic Camp) joining the cast.
