Sean Faris Lands Lead Role In The CW’s Wyoming Project

The CW’s Wyoming Project has cast its lead actor.

Sean Faris, who recently starred in several episodes of The Vampire Diaries as Ben, had nabbed the lead part in the pilot, which is produced by Gilmore Girls’ Amy Sherman-Palladino.

Smallville fans may remember him from years ago in the episode “Nocturne.”

The character he will be playing is named Gideon Thorpe, a horse trainer who is responsible for taking care of his three younger sisters after the death of their parents. Hopefully he’ll have Matthew Fox on speed-dial to find out how it’s done.

Also cast in the pilot as Faris’ younger sister is Renee Smith.

As soon as any Betwixt news is known, I’ll post it.

What’s the deal with the slow pace of casting for CW pilots? We’ve heard of what, two definite signings? I have high hopes for Betwixt, as well, but am also interested in Tom Welling’s Hellcats. Any news you can share would be appreciated. I happened across a Flickr page with oodles of pics of Hannah Tointon captioned “on Hellcats.” Wondering if there’s any truth to that?
