Cheryl Blossom (Madelaine Petsch) and Veronica Lodge (Camila Mendes) have a dance-off in this Thursday’s new episode of Riverdale on The CW, and Warner Bros. Television has today released a preview of the two “River Vixens” working their moves.
Here’s how Warner Bros. Television describes the clip; the clip itself follows below. A gallery of promotional photos for this week’s Riverdale, titled “The Lost Weekend,” can be found here at KSiteTV!
The River Vixens debut some standout dance moves on an all new episode of Riverdale this Thursday, April 13 , (9:00 – 10:00 p.m. ET/PT on The CW), as they prepare their Homecoming routine. But things take an unexpected turn when Veronica Lodge (Camila Mendes) shows up late for practice and Vixen leader Cheryl Blossom (Madelaine Petsch) punishes her by changing her placement to the back. Veronica quickly responds in the form of a dance-off, asking the River Vixens to vote for the most-impressive moves. The hair-tossing, hip-hop routine is set against “DJ Turn It Up” by Yellow Claw. The Amsterdam-based DJ and record production duo includes Jim Aasgier and Nizzle and they released their debut studio album, Blood for Mercy, in 2015. The complex choreography is courtesy of So You Think You Can Dance Canada veteran Paul Becker, who has worked with some of music’s biggest acts, including Ariana Grande, Miley Cyrus, Michael Buble, and more. His work can also be seen on an upcoming episode of The CW’s DC’s Legends of Tomorrow. The dance provides a welcome distraction for Veronica, who must make a difficult decision regarding her father’s potential release from prison.
Based on the characters from Archie Comics and produced by Berlanti Productions (The Flash, Supergirl, Blindspot, Everwood) in association with Warner Bros. Television, Riverdale is a bold, one-hour drama that offers a subversive take on the surreality of small-town life. The series stars are KJ Apa, Lili Reinhart, Camila Mendes, Cole Sprouse, Marisol Nichols, Madelaine Petsch, Ashleigh Murray, with Mädchen Amick and Luke Perry. Greg Berlanti, Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa, Sarah Schechter and Jon Goldwater are the executive producers.
