NBC has given virtual reality drama Reverie a series order. The series is the fourth new drama ordered by NBC for next season, joining The Brave, Rise, and Good Girls, and comes after fellow futuristic procedurals APB and Pure Genius underperformed this past season.

From Mickey Fisher (Extant), Reverie follows former hostage negotiator Mara Kint (Sarah Shahi), an expert on human behavior who gets tasked with saving ordinary people who have lost themselves in a highly advanced virtual-reality program in which you can literally live your dreams.

In addition to Shahi, Reverie stars Dennis Haysbert (Incorporated), Jessica Lu (Awkward), and Sendhil Ramamurthy (Heroes).

NBC will be revealing its 2017-18 schedule on Sunday, May 14th, with its upfront presentation the following day. You can check out what KSiteTV thought their schedule could look like here.
