According to The Hollywood Reporter, Syfy has given a series order to comedic drama Resident Alien.
Based on the comic series from Peter Hogan and Steve Parkhouse, with Chris Sheridan (Family Guy) developing for television, Resident Alien tells the story of an alien named Harry (Alan Tudyk), who crash-lands on Earth and takes on the identity of a small-town Colorado doctor. Soon he begins wrestling with the moral dilemma of his secret mission and whether humanity is a lost cause.
In addition to Tudyk, Resident Alien stars Sara Tomko (Sneaky Pete), Corey Reynolds (The Closer), Alice Wetterlund (People of Earth), and Levi Fiehler (The Fosters).
The order for Resident Alien, set to begin production this summer in Vancouver, brings Syfy’s current scripted slate to The Magicians, Deadly Class, Killjoys, Wynonna Earp, Krypton, Happy!, and Van Helsing. The network also has a series adaptation of the Child’s Play film franchise on its docket, as well as pilots (Future) Cult Classic, which follows a group of teens trying to outsmart a serial killer obsessed with ’90s slash flicks, and video game-centric Cipher.
