FOX has given its second new comedy order for next season to multi-cam Rel.

From Josh Rabinowitz (The Carmichael Show), Kevin Barnett (Lucas Bros Moving Co), and Lil Rel Howery (Get Out), Rel follows Lil Rel (Howery), a self-made success who finds out that his wife is having an affair with his barber. The series will follow Rel’s attempt at navigating a post-divorce life in the southside of Chicago while parenting his child and figuring out his next step.

In addition to Howrey, Rel stars Sinbad (Jingle All the Way), Jess “Hilarious” Moore (Wild ‘N Out), and Jordan L. Jones (Wisdom of the Crowd).

Rel joins a FOX comedy slate that’s decidedly in flux, as the network has ordered fellow multi-cam The Cool Kids for next season while cancelling acclaimed comedies Brooklyn Nine-Nine, The Mick, and The Last Man on Earth. Talks for a revival of conservative comedy Last Man Standing, inspired by the recent success of Roseanne, are said to be ongoing.

FOX is set to reveal its 2018 schedule this Monday.

Will you be watching? Do you think this is the type of comedy that viewers of Last Man Standing and The Cool Kids would go for? How do you feel about FOX abandoning single cams?
