Hulu announced on Thursday that acclaimed comedy Ramy has been renewed for a third season. The news comes about six weeks since the second season debuted in Friday, May 29th.

From Golden Globe winner Ramy Youssef (See Dad Run), Ari Katcher (The Carmichael Show), and Ryan Welch (On the Count of Three), Ramy follows first-generation Egyptian-American Ramy Hassan (Youssef), a wayward, self-destructive twentysomething The series keys in on Ramy’s attempts to balance his religious convictions with a desire to fit in among his peers, with season two introducing Sheikh Ali Malik, a religious mentor played by Oscar winner Mahershala Ali (Green Book, Moonlight).

Ramy is the latest high profile renewal for Hulu, which has recently picked up new seasons of adult animated comedies Solar Opposites and Crossing Swords and well-received period dramedy The Great. The streamer still has the likes of Love, Victor, High Fidelity, and a slew of co-productions in renewal limbo.
