FOX has officially renewed serial killer drama Prodigal Son for a second season, it was confirmed today.
Over the course of its shortened first season, which clocked in at 20 episodes instead of its original order of 22 due to coronavirus, the series was pretty steady in L+SD, as it found its core 0.7 – 0.8 audience a few episodes into its run. While that wasn’t the most exciting ratings run, and the series wasn’t an ideal retainer of a strong 9-1-1 ratings season, it showed a lot of might in non-linear measures, helping its renewal case.
Prodigal Son aired its season finale Monday, April 27th. You can check out FOX’s fall schedule, a mishmash of animated shows, acquisitions, scripted holdovers, and unscripted, here.
