AMC has announced that the second season of acclaimed supernatural drama Preacher is set to debut Monday, June 19th at 9:00. Season two will consist of 13 episodes, up from season one’s 10, and mark the latest AMC drama to move off of Sundays, as Humans just recently did.
Additionally, the entire first season of Preacher will be available for streaming on Hulu beginning Wednesday, April 5th, while the show will have a panel tomorrow at SXSW beginning at 2:00 p.m., where attendees will be the first to witness exclusive season two footage.
Based on the Preacher comic series by Garth Ennis and Steve Dillion while being adapted for television by Seth Rogen (Pineapple Express), Evan Goldberg (This Is the End), and Sam Catlin (Breaking Bad), Preacher follows West Texas holy man Jesse Custer (Dominic Cooper), bad ass ex-girlfriend Tulip (Ruth Negga), and Irish vampire Cassidy (Joseph Gilgun) as they take a road trip to find God only to become entwined in a battle spanning Heaven and Hell.
Preacher is part of an AMC drama slate that includes Humans, The Walking Dead, Fear the Walking Dead, Into the Badlands, Turn: Washington’s Spies, Better Call Saul, and Halt and Catch Fire. The network will next be premiering The Son, a western starring Pierce Brosnan based on the Phillip Gregory novel of the same name, on Saturday, April 8th.
