PR SUPER MEGAFORCE

It’s finally here! After what’s felt like the longest, most frustrating wait of all time (two years to be precise), Power Rangers Super Megaforce finally gets to that pesky legendary battle of returning veteran Power Rangers it’s been teasing since literally the first second of the first episode of Power Rangers Megaforce. And it looks like we’ll be getting a little bit more than we thought, too.

The series finale of Power Rangers Super Megaforce airs this Saturday at 12p.m./11c on Nickelodeon, and it’s aptly titled “Legendary Battle.” Here’s a description:

When The Emperor nearly defeats the Rangers after a massive attack, the Rangers get help from Legendary Rangers from the past.

The episode will feature a whole slew of past Ranger actors returning for the blowout fight. You can see them all in the (very, very cool) video clip at the bottom, so if you’ve managed to miraculously stay in the dark, beware of spoilers.

But wait, there’s more! There will be an extended version of the finale airing on Nicktoons the following Monday, November 24, from 11p.m./10c until 12:15am/11:15c. This is a full hour and fifteen minute block, consisting of “The Wrath,” “Legendary Battle,” and a mysterious extra fifteen minutes of footage.

Saban confirmed with Power Force–a network of Power Rangers fansites that do some of the heftiest promotion for the show–that this is a true extended edition, and it will become available for everyone on Nick.com on Tuesday. There’s no confirmation on what the extra footage is, but the speculation ranges anywhere from deleted scenes, to newly recorded scenes, to a preview of Power Rangers Dino Charge.

It’s definitely strange that this extended cut is getting buried on Nicktoons late at night, but what would Power Rangers Super Megaforce be without odd and confusing decision-making? Either way, it’s a great treat and (hopefully) a gift for the fans who’ve stuck through this sometimes grueling season.

Check out the exciting preview clip below, as well as the trailer for the finale (which might admittedly be a little too heavily focused on one guy.)
