TVLine’s Matt Mitovich tonight posted news that Smallville’s “Tess Mercer,” Cassidy Freeman, has booked a recurring role on NBC’s new series, The Playboy Club.
Cassidy will be playing a Chicago socialite named Frances Dunhill who takes on a “for show”-only relationship with Eddie Cibrian’s character of Nick Dalton. TVLine’s article states that “the arrangement benefits both parties, as Nick runs for public office and Frances labors to please her father (while also concealing a secret).”
Look for The Playboy Club to premiere on September 19. Cassidy’s first episode airs on October 3.
