Deadline is reporting that The Haunting of Hill House alum Lulu Wilson is set as the star of ABC comedy pilot Valley Trash.
From Nikki Schwartz-Wright (Speechless), Valley Trash follows the blue collar Harman family, whose lives get thrown for a loop when their gifted 14-year-old Abby gets accepted into a prestigious Los Angeles private school. Abby and the rest of her family are forced to deal with students and parents who look down on them and want nothing to do with getting to know them.
Wilson will play confident tomboy Abby, who begins getting bullied by the mean girls at her new school. She tries to approach this new situation with as much empathy and patience as she can, but her temper wins out.
Valley Trash is one of several comedy pilots in contention at ABC for next season, joining Adopted, about a Green Beret whose newest brother is an adopted 12-year-old Russian boy; socioeconomic sibling series Home Economics; workplace multi-cam Kids Matter Now; empty nest multi-cam My Village; Prospect, centering on a young woman moving to the frontier to teach school; an untitled project from Emily Kapnek about a teenager who discovers a family secret; and Work Wife, inspired by the relationship between Ryan Seacrest and Kelly Ripa.
In addition to her role on the Netflix limited series, Wilson’s television credits include The Millers, Sharp Objects, and Star Trek: Picard.
