Deadline is reporting that Mistresses alum Rochelle Aytes has joined CW drama pilot The Lost Boys.
Based on the cult 1987 film starring Corey Haim and Kiefer Sutherland, with Heather Mitchell (Scandal) and Rob Thomas (iZombie) adapting for television, The Lost Boys follows a mother and her two Gen Z sons as they move back to her seaside hometown in North Carolina for a fresh start. However, they soon realize the town is overrun by dangerous vampires and the brothers find themselves on the opposite sides of a mythological struggle.
Aytes will play Jackie, the mother of Garrett and Levi who moves back to North Carolina to take over her dad’s bed and breakfast. Her character is a version of the character played by Dianne Wiest in the film.
The Lost Boys is one of four traditional pilots The CW ordered for 2020-21, joining political drama Maverick, CBS castoff The Republic of Sarah, and martial arts saga Kung Fu. The network also has backdoor pilots that would spinoff Arrow and The 100 if ordered.
In addition to her role on the ABC soap, Aytes has appeared on the likes of The Purge, SWAT, and Criminal Minds. She joins a cast that includes Lincoln Younes (Grand Hotel), Ruby Cruz (Castle Rock), and newcomer Branden Cook.
