Deadline is reporting that ABC drama pilot The Hypnotist’s Love Story has found its lead in The Knick alum Juliet Rylance.
From Katie Wech (Rizzoli & Isles), The Hypnotist’s Love Story tells the story of successful hypnotherapist Ellen (Rylance) as she finds herself feeling optimistic about new boyfriend Patrick (Adan Canto). However, the other shoe drops when she learns that Patrick has a stalker in ex-girlfriend Sasha (Heather Graham), a woman Ellen is oddly thrilled by even though she doesn’t realize they’ve already met.
In addition to her role on the acclaimed Cinemax medical drama, Rylance’s television credits include McMafia, American Gothic, and The Mystery of Matter: The Search for Elements. She joins a cast that also includes Liza Lapira (Traffic Light) and Jane Seymour (Let’s Get Physical).
The Hypnotist’s Love Story is part of a drama pilot slate for ABC that includes an untitled legal drama executive produced by 50 Cent; Until the Wedding, a romantic dramedy that follows how one couple’s marriage impacts everyone in their lives; Bermuda Triangle-set Triangle; P.I. drama Stumptown; new takes on NYPD Blue and New York Undercover; family drama Heart of Life; and romance The Baker and the Beauty.
