Deadline is reporting that Kingdom alum Natalie Martinez and Charlie Barnett (Russian Doll) have joined NBC drama pilot Ordinary Joe.
From Russel Friend & Garrett Lerner (House), Ordinary Joe follows the three parallel lives that splinter off when Joe Kimbrough (James Wolk) makes a pivotal decision at a major turning point in his life. The series asks the question of how different life might look if you made your decision based on love, loyalty, or passion.
Martinez will play bright and caring Amy, who forms an immediate connection with Joe. Barnett is set as Joe’s close friend Eric.
Ordinary Joe is one of six drama pilots in contention at NBC for 2020-21, joining At That Age, which follows the aftermath of a catastrophic event happening to the golden child of a Black family; sinkhole mystery La Brea; Debris, about two agents who investigate the wreckage from a destroyed alien spacecraft; body swapping procedural Echo; and Langdon, based on the Dan Brown novel The Lost Symbol and starring Manhattan alum Ashley Zukerman as famed Harvard symbologist Robert Langdon.
In addition to her role on the Audience Network MMA drama, Martinez’s television credits include The I-Land, The Crossing, and APB, while Barnett has appeared on the likes of Chicago Fire, Arrow, and You.
