Deadline is reporting that White Famous alum Utkarsh Ambudkar has joined CBS comedy pilot Ghosts.
Ambudkar will play Ryan, a talented chef with a love for all things nerdy. He joins a cast that includes Brandon Scott Jones (The Other Two) and Rebecca Wisocky (Devious Maids).
In addition to his role on the Showtime comedy, Ambudkar has appeared on the likes of Brockmire, The Mindy Project, and Mary + Jane.
Unlike NBC and ABC, CBS hasn’t made any decisions on its 2020-21 pilot slate, meaning that Ghosts is still battling for limited scheduling space alongside Jury Duty, a hybrid comedy focused on a sequestered jury as they attempt to come up with a verdict on the trial they’re working on; Julie Bowen vehicle Raised by Wolves, about an unfiltered, powerful businesswoman who adopts an inner-city kid; sibling comedy The Three of Us; Chuck Lorre series The United States of Al, which follows the friendship between a Marine and his interpreter; and an untitled series from Corinne Kingsbury about a career-minded young woman who enlists her mother for help raising her son.
The network has already given a series order to B Positive, a multi-cam centering on a man looking for a kidney donor who finds it in the person he least expects.
