Deadline is reporting that FOX’s soapy drama pilot Filthy Rich has added Sex and the City‘s Kim Cattrall, Aubrey Dollar (Battle Creek), Benjamin Aguilar (Aloha Haha), Z: The Beginning of Everything alum Corey Cott, and Mark L. Young (The Comeback).
Cattrall will be playing Margaret Monroe, the star of a hugely popular lifestyle TV show and the creator of a conservative TV network that she runs with her husband; Dollar is set as Margaret’s sarcastic daughter Rose, a clothing designer yearning to find her voice away from her family; Cott portrays Rose’s brother Eric, Senior VP of Operations at their parents’ TV network; Aguilar will be seen as tattooed, up-and-coming boxer Antonio Rivera, a single dad contemplating a major move; and Young plays Jason Conley, who runs a weed business in Colorado.
Based on the New Zealand drama series of the same name, with Tate Taylor (The Help) developing for American television, Filthy Rich tells the story of the Monroe family, in charge of a hugely popular conservative television network based in Mississippi. When their patriarch suddenly dies in a plane crash, they’re stunned to find out that he not only had grown, illegitimate children they knew nothing about, but these new heirs are in his will. The series follows the Monroes as they fight to hold on to what’s theirs while maintaining their perfect facade to the outside world.
In addition to her role in the iconic HBO comedy, Cattrall’s television credits include Sensitive Skin and Tell Me a Story, while Dollar has been seen in 666 Park Avenue and Weeds; Aguilar has featured in episodes of Glee and Out of the Box; Cott is known for his roles in The Good Fight and Public Morals; and Young recurred in Ten Days in the Valley and Aquarius.
