Variety is reporting that NBC romantic comedy pilot Crazy For You has added Shelley Hennig (Teen Wolf), The Real Bros of Simi Valley‘s Alice Lee, Tiana Okoye (The Good Place), and Black-ish‘s Nick Cafero.
From Rachele Lynn (Saturday Night Live), with Seth Meyers executive producing, Crazy For You centers on Daisy (Hennig), a sweet, charming publishing assistant coming out of a long-term relationship who’s faced with the realization that dating has changed since she was last single. She then enlists her friends for support as she strives to find someone in this crazy, complicated world while remaining true to herself in the process.
Lee will play Daisy’s organized and ambitious co-worker Emma. Okoye is set as Tasha, one of Daisy’s best friends. Cafero will portray Emma’s genuinely nice boyfriend Ethan.
Crazy For You is one of six comedy pilots currently in contention at NBC, joining Jefferies, a multi-cam from Legit creator Jim Jefferies that stars Betsy Brandt and Anthony LaPaglia; workplace comedy American Auto; Someone Out There, a series based on Spanish format Pequeñas Coincidencias that stars Aimee Carrero and Ryan Hansen; multi-cam Night School, based on the Tiffany Haddish film of the same name; and an untitled series centering on Black friends, dating, and wine executive produced by Brooklyn Nine-Nine creator Dan Goor.
The network already has series orders for Dwayne Johnson origin story Young Rock, 2019-20 holdover The Kenan Show, and an untitled comedy from Tina Fey about a businessman who unexpectedly becomes mayor of Los Angeles.
