Deadline is reporting that NBC comedy pilot American Auto has added four series regulars in Tye White (Greenleaf), Michael Benjamin Washington (Ratched), Jon Barinholtz (Superstore), and Humphrey Ker (Mythic Quest: Raven’s Banquet).
White will play assembly line worker Jack. Washington is set as Cyrus, Chief Producer Designer at Payne Motors. Barinholtz will portray Wesley, the direct descendant of the company’s founder. Ker will be seen as Chief Sales Officer Elliot.
They join a cast that includes Ana Gasteyer (People of Earth) as Payne CEO Katherine Hastings; Harriet Dyer (The InBetween) as Sadie, the ambitious Type-A head of communications at Payne; and Daily Show writer X Mayo as Katherine’s sweet, wholesome assistant Dori.
American Auto is one of five total pilots NBC will be filming once it becomes safe to do so. Joining the series in getting the greenlight for production are pilots for Dan Brown drama Langdon; multi-cam Night School, based on the Tiffany Haddish film of the same name; Grand Crew, a comedy about a group of Black friends, dating, and wine that’s executive produced by Brooklyn Nine-Nine‘s Dan Goor; and
The network has already given space drama Debris a series order while commissioning six scripts for sinkhole mystery La Brea, which is in the running for a straight-to-series order.
