The news originally came from Executive Producer Adam Horowitz on Twitter: Once Upon a Time will live to see another day — even if it’s without original series leads Jennifer Morrison, Ginnifer Goodwin, and Josh Dallas, all of whom could still show up as guest stars.
Between ABC picking up American Idol, thus limiting the amount of timeslot real estate, and the notion that there would be a creative reboot for the show, some wondered about Once’s future; but at this point, it seems like smooth sailing and that the fairy tale drama will be back.
It is believed that actors Lana Parrilla (Regina/The Evil Queen), Robert Carlyle (Mr. Gold/Rumpelstiltskin), and Colin O’Donoghue (Hook) will all be returning. Andrew J. West has joined the cast in a role that some suspect may be a grown-up Henry.
The Season 6 finale airs Sunday, May 14 on ABC.
