According to The Hollywood Reporter, Greenleaf star Keith David will be recurring on upcoming Freeform comedy Marvel’s New Warriors. He’ll be playing caustic municipal employee Ernest Vigman, a man who butts up against the hopeful energy of the new warriors.
Marvel’s first live-action scripted comedy, New Warriors follows six young roommates as they live and work together while dealing with their newfound superpowers. Based on the popular comic series of the same name, the series comes from Kevin Biegel (Scrubs), with Jeph Loeb (Agents of SHIELD) and Jim Chory (Heroes) executive producing.
In addition to his current role on the OWN drama, David has appeared on the likes of Community, Enlisted, and Big Time in Hollywood, FL. He joins a cast that includes the likes of Derek Theler (Baby Daddy), Milana Vayntrub (This Is Us), and Matthew Moy (2 Broke Girls).
Marvel’s New Warriors is set to premiere in 2018 on Freeform, where it will join fellow Marvel drama Cloak & Dagger, mermaid drama Siren, and buddy comedy Alone Together as freshmen on Freeform’s roster.
