Two more new FOX series orders landed tonight, and one of them is yet another series based on a DC Comics series.
Lucifer is based [loosely] on the DC/Vertigo series of the same name, and it stars Tom Ellis as Lucifer, who is bored and unhappy as the Lord of Hell, so he resigns his throne and abandons his kingdom for the gorgeous, shimmering insanity of Los Angeles, where he gets his kicks helping the LAPD punish criminals.
Yep, Lucifer hangs out with cops now. We’ll see how this one pans out.
The cast of the show also includes Lauren German, Rachael Harris, DB Woodside, Lesley-Ann Brandt, Nicholas Gonzalez and Scarlett Estevez.
Lucifer is one of several DC Comics-based series to hit TV in the upcoming season. In addition to this, Arrow, Flash, and Legends of Tomorrow hail at The CW and Supergirl can be seen on CBS. The FOX schedule also already includes Gotham.
Next up, Minority Report is a sequel to the Tom Cruise film, set 10 years after the end of Pre-crime in DC, when one of the three Pre-cogs struggles to lead a “normal” human life, but remains haunted by visions of the future, when he meets a detective who just may help him find a purpose to his gift.
The cast of that one includes Meagan Good, Stark Sands, Wilmer Valderrama, Daniel London, Laura Regan, Li Jun Li and Zhane Hall.
FOX will be presenting their 2015-2016 schedule on Monday.
