History has revealed that period drama Knightfall is set to premiere Wednesday, December 6th at 10:00, opting not to pair it with fellow fall scripted drama Vikings.
From Don Handfield (The Founder) and Richard Rayner (L.A.without a Map), with executive producer Jeremy Renner on board,Knightfalltells the story of the Knights Templar, a mysterious and wealthy military order charged with protecting Christianity’s most prized possession – the Holy Grail.However, the Knights also possess enough secrets to bring the church down, which other world leaders wish to use to their advantage.
Joining a scripted slate for History that includesVikingsandSix,Knightfallstars Bobby Schofield (Black Sea) as Parsifal, a young man who finds purpose in the Knights Templar that he didn’t expect; Sabrina Bartlett (Da Vinci’s Demons) as Princess Isabella, the progeny of Queen Joan and King Philip; Simon Merrells (Spartacus) as veteran sergeant Tancrede, whose fanaticism about the Knights Templar cause makes him dangerous; and Padraic Delany (The Tudors) as Gawain, one of the greatest swordsman of the Knights Templar who finds himself at a personal crossroads.
