AMC has released the first five photos from the upcoming third season of dystopian drama Into the Badlands and in them, we see the likes of Sunny and Tilda trying to move on after the events of season two.
Season three of Into the Badlands finds Sunny living off the grid, having put his clipper past behind him in order to focus on raising his son. Still dealing with immense grief from Veil’s death, Sunny soon finds himself pulled back to the Badlands when Henry contracts a mysterious illness that requires immediate medical attention. Once he arrives in his old stomping grounds, he’s thrust into the middle of a turf war between The Widow and Baron Chau that threatens to suck him back into a life he thought he left behind.
Meanwhile, The Widow looks to Lydia and Nathaniel Moon for allies in her latest political scuffle, while the arrival of a new figure in town causes significant shifts in the Badlands alliances and makes the most powerful figure in town reconsider their inner circles.
Joining the cast of Into the Badlands season three are Babou Ceesay (Getting On) as warlord Pilgrim, a man furiously searching for a mysterious artifact that could heighten his station in the Badlands; Lorraine Toussaint (Orange is the New Black) as Cressida, a Prophetess who acts as a mentor to Pilgrim; and Lewis Tan (Iron Fist) as Gaius Chau, who was imprisoned by his older sister, Baron Chau, for liberating her cog slaves.
The first half of the 16-episode third season of Into the Badlands is set to premiere in early 2018 on AMC.
