ABC has released the official trailer for upcoming relationship comedy Imaginary Friend and in it, we see that

From Adam F. Goldberg (The Goldbergs) and David Guarascio (Aliens in America), Imaginary Mary tells the story of determined career woman Alice (Jenna Elfman), who dreamed up an imaginary friend while she was going through a difficult childhood. Now able to access the type of love and support she needed from her loved ones, Alice was able to grow into a strong, confident person with a killer business sense and absolutely no time for matters of the heart. Yet that all changes when she meets divorced dad Ben, which causes her to rethink the stance against marriage that she and imaginary friend Mary formed many years ago. And as said stance is now threatened, Mary returns to Alice’s life after decades of hiding in the back of her creator’s mind; she thinks Alice is insane for displaying this type of vulnerability with another person, but is there anything she can do when Alice’s feelings for Ben are this strong?

In addition to Elfman and Dratch, Imaginary Mary stars Stephen Schneider (Broad City), Jillian Bell (Workaholics), Erica Tremblay (A Perfect Wedding), Nicholas Coombe (Pants on Fire), and Matreya Scarrwener (Detective McLean).

Imaginary Mary is set to air midseason. You can check out ABC’s 2016-2017 schedule here.
