Starz has released the first teaser for its upcoming opioid drama Hightown and in it, we see that as one life ends, another gets the chance to start over.
From Rebecca Cutter (Gotham), Hightown centers on hard-partying National Marine Fisheries Service agent Jackie Quiñones (Monica Raymund), whose free-spirited life is turned on its head when she discovers a body on the beach. The series, set in Cape Cod, follows Jackie as she makes the first steps toward sobriety while attempting to solve the murder that landed in her lap.
In addition to Raymund, Hightown stars James Badge Dale (The Departed), Riley Voelkel (The Originals), Shane Harper (Happyland), Amaury Nolasco (Telenovela), and Atkins Estimond (The Resident). It’s one of several series Starz has in the pipeline, including strip club drama P-Valley, an origin story based on the characters of Dangerous Liaisons, and John Wick spinoff The Continental.
Hightown is set to premiere sometime this spring on Starz. A premiere date, as well as a full trailer, should be released in the coming weeks.
Will you be watching? Does this look like the type of programming that Starz should be doing? Could this become an anthology assuming Jackie solves the murder at the end of season one?
