As we've mentioned in previous posts, the new TBS sitcom Ground Floor is a multi-camera series that reminds the viewer of classic sitcoms -- in a good way. Starring Pitch Perfect's Skylar Astin as Brody, a man in a relationship with Jenny (Briga Heelan), his perfect match who happens to work in the "ground floor" of the company for which he works on the executive floor.
Normally, you'd think that this "culture clash" would lead to... well... clashing, but so far, it seems Brody and Jenny get along all right. Well, except, perhaps, when someone from their past comes along.
In tonight's episode, airing at 10PM (ET) on TBS, Remington Trust is declared one of the worst places for women to work, so Mr. Mansfield hires a new addition named Heather -- who happens to be Brody's ex-girlfriend. She also happens to be played by Pitch Perfect's aca-awesome Anna Camp. And did we mention the two of them do their own round of "Baby One More Time" at karaoke?
Beyond the reunion, there are some other fun moments, including a well placed bleep from Mr. Mansfield (John C. McGinley), who is one of the funniest characters in sitcom TV these days.
If we can't have a Pitch Perfect sequel as soon as we'd like one, this will have to do. Can Anna Camp come back soon? Despite the relationship challenge, it is fun to see Astin and Camp on screen together again. Even without her, this show is a lot of fun, and I'm hoping that TBS gives us more.
