The CW’s Fall 2019 DC Crossover Is Crisis On Infinite Earths

Warning: Spoilers for the end of the DC TV crossover Elseworlds on The CW are talked about in this episode.

The conclusion of the Elseworlds crossover tonight on The CW got an early start on announcing the subject of next year’s crossover.

The “Psycho Pirate” is a thing, in a cell next to Dr. John Deegan. Worlds will live… worlds will die… and Crisis on Infinite Earths is coming!

Crisis on Infinite Earths was DC Comics’ big crossover for their 50th anniversary in 1985; among other things, it merged their universe and killed major heroes like Supergirl and The Flash. It would also lend itself well to a CW event, as some shows like Black Lightning happen on other worlds — now would be a way to make that all come together, and there’s a year to plan it.

We also wonder about the possibilities. John Wesley Shipp’s Flash of Earth-90 appeared… but who’s to say that, say, there isn’t a world where Smallville is a thing? Could Brandon Routh be Superman somewhere? Could we see some DC Universe heroes like the Titans and Stargirl? Teri Hatcher and Dean Cain as Lois and Clark?

Also, it will be fun to know that we will likely have Batwoman as part of the crossover for next season… more reason to get excited early.
