The CW’s upcoming Green Arrow television series Arrow is only a few episodes into shooting, but already news of more characters from the larger DC Comics universe are coming in to the story.
In addition to China White (coming in episode 2, airing October 17) and Deadshot (in episode 3, on Oct. 24), now news has come courtesy of EW.com that the character Huntress will be appearing on the series, as played by Jessica De Gouw. The character is expected sometime around the series’ sixth episode, which would place it in November.
Huntress was one of the lead characters in The WB series Birds of Prey; that version of the character, like the original version from DC Comics in 1977, was the daughter of Batman and Catwoman. The version of the Huntress that will be seen in Arrow will be Helena Bertinelli, daughter of a mafia boss.
The Huntress is expected to be a recurring role on the series, which also recently added John Barrowman (Torchwood) to its recurring cast as a character that is yet to be revealed. She might not be the only female DC vigilante coming to the show, either: the show has also been casting the role of “Kate Spencer,” a.k.a. Manhunter, unless that was just some kind of code covering up the role they were really casting.
Arrow premieres October 10 on The CW.
